Planning a Kuala Lumpur Vacation With Kids

If you are planning a family vacation with kids then Malaysia would be a good destination. You can plan a number of adventurous, entertaining, educational and fun activities in Malaysia. There are a lot of activities to do with your kids in Malaysia that you need to have an idea of what all to do, or you will miss many of them.

Most of the fun in Malaysia is centered around Kuala Lumpur. Here they are:

Berjaya Times Square Theme Park

This is a theme park where both locals and visitors hang out. It is a popular destination among kids too. There is a theme park known as Cosmo's world Park within the building and is always crowded with bustling and laughing kids. The park covers an area of 380,000 sq feet and is the largest indoor theme park in Malaysia. If you are not in the mood for heavy adventure, you can opt to go for less thrilling rides. Some of the most thrilling rides in the park are 800 meter long Supersonic Odyssey roller coaster, the Human DNA, the Space Attack and the  30-meter high Spinning Orbit. If your kid has a birthday while you are vacationing in Kuala Lumpur, you can celebrate it in the Kidz Theatre or any of the party rooms, designed for the purpose.

Butterfly Park

Kids love butterflies and they would have a wonderful time at the Butterfly Park, a part of Lake Gardens. Four other parks and gardens form the Lake Gardens. Kids can learn about the metamorphosis process of how a larva grows into a full grown butterfly at the Butterfly Park. You can view more than 6000 kinds of butterflies here; i.e. more than 120 species. Once you’ve finished visiting the Butterfly Park, you can head to Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, Deer Park Kuala Lumpur and Islamic Art Museum.

Sunway Pyramid Mall

The mall run by the Sunway Group is located in Bandar Sunway and renowned to be an upscale place and the only mall to have an ice-skating rink. In fact, this mall was Malaysia’s first theme based shopping mall and is still distinctive with its Egyptian-inspired giant sphinx and elaborate pseudo-hieroglyphics. You have several branded shops at the mall including Marks & Spencer, Crabtree & Evelyn, Crocs,  Calvin Klein Jeans, Timberland, Mango and so on. Teenagers have an entire floor dedicated to them – they can indulge in plenty of fun and entertainment activities here. The mall is also the ideal destination for you to indulge and pamper your taste buds.

Kidzania Kuala Lumpur

Would you love to take your kids to a role playing entertainment cum educational center at Petaling Jaya in Malaysia? Then Kidzania would be the best place because they get to learn about various professions there. They can even don the uniform of a particular job and act it out among themselves. They can be hairdressers, mechanics, doctors, judges, surgeons and pilots. There are 90 different role playing jobs at Kidzania. Your kids can choose any profession they like, and act out the role. This would give them an idea of the different professions in the world, and would perhaps, help make a career choice in the future. You can even learn to become a secret investigator, a pilot, or an expert in crowd control. Kids however need to be accompanied by an adult. You don't have to worry about your kids' safety because that is all taken care of.

Megakidz Funland & Edutainment

Located at Mid Valley in Kuala Lumpur, Megakidz Funland & Edutainment is a kid's paradise where families come in and enjoy watching their kids have wholesome fun. This is a learning and play center and your children can have fun at the cinema, toddler's corner, air bouncer and the highly sophisticated aviation play system, renowned to be the biggest in Asia, complete with pop-up helicopter and all. The park charges a fee only for the child, and for the adults it is free. Isn't that good? An additional perk is that you can go shopping as well.

The Great Animal Park

How about taking your kids to enjoy a “farm” in the city? As a rule, kids love animals and they would be thrilled at observing the animals. And not just seeing them, because your kids can touch them and feed them. The park is divided into several segments where you have reptiles, birds and a plethora of other farm animals like geese, iguana, peacocks, deer and bunnies. Kids would enjoy playing with rabbits and guinea pigs as they are allowed inside the enclosure.

Aquaria KLCC

At Aquaria KLCC, you are stepping into a different world altogether and everything is mesmerizing there. You can feast your eyes on several varieties of aquatic life, observe their living habits and even touch some of them, especially the starfishes and tiger sharks. There is a lovely 90-meter underwater tunnel where you can see some occupant -killer sharks as well. Each cubicle has been designed to mimic the natural habitat of the fishes, so you will have a great time studying the natural habits of these animals. Aquaria KLCC is a place that children would love and have fun.

Sanrio Hello Kitty Town Malaysia

Hello Kitty fans would be thrilled to see this little town where your children can visit Hello Kitty's house, (enjoy) a tea cup ride, play area, “Hello Kitty in Oz World” and several other activity areas. Kids would enjoy shooting the softballs all around, lying in the hello Kitty bed. You can take your children to walk through the maze where you and your children would have wholesome fun trying to save the Oz. There are a lot of fun activities in the theme park that the entire family can try out. It is an activity you can do as a family.

Genting Highlands Theme Park

This theme park could probably one of the biggest entertainment cities in the entire country. This First World Indoor Theme Park is a place where both kids and adults have fun together because you have a horde of family rides, exotic Rio float, a reindeer cruise, mini train and so much more. If you would like to take them to a magical fairyland, then visit the Snow World where you can have a breathtaking view of a winter town recreated so realistically that you will imagine yourself standing in a real snow covered town. Of course, if you want to take a break from all those theme rides, you can head to video games park or an take an educational tour of how the daily operations of this theme park is conducted.

Thomas Town

Thomas Town in Kuala Lumpur is an entirely different world altogether. There are two levels in the building where you have Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, Barnet and Pinggu in the first level and Thomas and his friends in the second level. There are lots of fun activities in both these levels, including a ballet class with Angelina herself, fitting huge building blocks to solve puzzles and so on. All the cartoon characters are created with great professional skill and style; your kids would love it here.

Desa Waterpark

Kids can never resist a visit to the water park, so you must take them to Desa Waterpark during one of your visits to Malaysia because it is easily one of the largest amusement parks in the country with 50 acres of lake and 12.6-acres of land. Some of the noted attractions at the park are Thunder Bolt, Action River, Tarzan in Town, Pink Slide, Water Factory, Clown-A-Round, Shock Wave and Surf Shack. Thunder Bolt is the most popular one in the park because it is renowned to be longest and the first gravity-defying water coaster in not just in Malaysia, but in Asia as well.
