What are Cookies

Your cookie settings and preferences

Blocking cookies  Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies by adjusting your browser settings. For example:

  • In Goggle Chrome: Click the “three line” Chrome menu (usually in the top right hand corner of the browser). Select Settings. Click Show advanced settings. In the “Privacy” section, click the Content settings button. In the “Cookies” section, you can block all cookies by selecting “Block sites from setting any data”.   • In Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Internet Explorer 8: Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the Privacy tab, and then, under Settings, move the slider to the top to block all cookies or to the bottom to allow all cookies, and then click OK. Please keep in mind that blocking cookies may have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites and if you block cookies, you may not be able to use all the features on the Website. In Google Chrome, you’ll see blocked cookie icon in the address bar to warn you whenever a cookie has been blocked.

Deleting cookies

You can delete cookies already stored on your computer by clearing your browsing data. For example:

  • In Goggle Chrome: Click the “three line” Chrome menu (usually in the top right hand corner of the browser). Select Settings. Click Show advanced settings. In the “Privacy” section, click the Content settings button. In the “Cookies” section, click “All cookies and site data” to open the Cookies and site data dialogue. To delete all cookies, click “Remove all” at the bottom of the dialogue. To delete a specific cookie, hover over the site that issued the cookie with your mouse, then click the X that appears in the right corner. You can also choose to remove all cookies created during a specific time period, using the Clear Browsing Data dialogue.   • In Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Internet Explorer 8: Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. On the General tab, under Browsing history, click “Delete”. Select the Cookies check box, and then click “Delete” if it isn’t already checked. Clear or select check boxes for any other options you also want to delete.
