6 Delights of Kerala

Kerala, a state on the southernmost tip of India lies in the tropical Malabar Coast with about 600 kilometers of shoreline. With its majestic palm-lined trees, intricate network of canals, charming beaches and mysterious forests, there is so much to explore. Here is a package that would take you through the 6 main delights of Kerala in just 7 days.

Day 1
Arrive at Cochin International Airport

On the first day of your trip, you will arrive at the Cochin International Airport. A tour representative will meet you at the airport. You will be driven to the hotel in Cochin where you will be staying for the first part of your trip. The rest of the day can be spend in exploring the delights of Cochin, mainly Bolgatty Island, Dutch Palace, Museum, and then to the Jewish Synagogue. You can retire to your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 2
Cochin to Athirappilly

On the second day, after breakfast, you can visit the famed Athirappilly Waterfalls, and enjoy the soothing sounds of the cascading falls. After marvelling at the recurring motif for sometime, you can head to Vazhachal and spend a half hour there. If you wish, you can enjoy a drive through the Sholayar forests (this is a normal traffic route that leads to Valparai, and from there to Pollachi in Tamil Nadu), for a few kilometres and then head back to Cochin. In the evening, after reaching your hotel, you can take rest in your room or explore the city of Cochin.

Day 3
Cochin to Munnar

We can start the journey to Munnar quite early in the morning, and have breakfast on the way. This would bring you to your destination in the afternoon itself. After lunch at one of the local restaurants in Munnar (typical banana leaf meals are available), you can check in to your hotel, and start your exploration of Munnar. Spice plantations, Attukady waterfalls, Kodanadu elephant care centre, Valaya waterfalls and Cheyyara waterfalls can all be covered in the first day. Stay will be at Munnar.

Day 4
Munnar sightseeing

The fourth day dawns with a beautiful sunrise that you can view from your room in the hotel. After a sumptuous breakfast, you can resume Munnar sightseeing. This includes a visit to Raja malai at Eraikulam National Park, Tea Museum, Kundala Dam, Top station visit, Rose Garden, photo point, Mattupetty Dam. If you want to go around Munnar in a bicycle, we can help arrange that for you. Cycling around the winding roads of Munnar will be a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 5
Munnar to Thekkady

Start your trip to Thekkady after an early breakfast from Munnar. Check into your hotel at Thekkady. The main sightseeing destination in Thekkady is Periyar wildlife sanctuary where you can see elephants, deer, great Indian tiger, Mullaperiyar dam, boar, gaur and more. In the evening, you can go for a boat cruise and experience the beauty of the wilderness, with its indigenous flora and fauna. In the evening, you can enjoy an Ayurveda massage at a spa or at your hotel.

Day 6
Thekkady to Aleppey

Enjoy a houseboat cruise on this day. The day starts with an early breakfast and then you will be driven to Aleppey, after checkout from your hotel in Thekkady. Once you reach Aleppey, you can leave your bags in the vehicle, and enjoy a backwater cruise through the the backwaters. Lunch will be served in typical Kerala style during the cruise, and snacks as well. In the evening, after the cruise, you can head to your hotel in Aleppey, where you can rest for the night.

Day 7
Aleppey to Cochin and then back home

In the morning, you will be driven back to Cochin, where you can resume your tour of the city. Later, will drop you at Cochin International airport, where you can freshen up before it’s time for your flight.
